Apply for Funding

Staff at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust Hospitals already provide outstanding care and treatment, but we know you are also full of brilliant ideas that help to make your service, ward or hospital even better.

Our vision is to empower our NHS to excel beyond boundaries, providing exceptional care, support, and innovation to enhance the well-being of our community.

Whilst the UK government funds our health service there are limitations to the services and resources this funding can deliver. We know that if budget allowed, there are things you and your teams might implement to improve the patient experience and wellbeing for staff. Frimley Health Charity helps you go beyond these limitations. That’s why each year we provide grants in excess of £1.5 million to our Frimley Health’s hospitals and their communities to cover costs that your NHS budgets can’t.

What we fund

We’ll fund the little things that make a big difference, going above and beyond to transform the experiences patients have in our hospitals, wherever the need is greatest. We as a charity have set out fundraising principles that will help shape and guide everything we do across our hospitals and local community. By setting these out it helps focus our funding and ensure that the needs of our patients and our staff both now and in the future are cared for.

Our funding principles:

The principle of improving the patient experience acknowledges that healthcare goes beyond treating physical ailments; it’s also about ensuring that patients feel comfortable, cared for, and supported. We recognise the importance of improving the patient experience and aim to alleviate the stress and anxiety that patients may feel when receiving clinical care. To achieve this, we will raise funds to support a range of patient centred projects and initiatives as well as funding state-of-the-art medical equipment and specialist training for staff. The charity’s approach involves working closely with patients, families, and staff to ensure that the projects and initiatives it supports have the greatest possible impact on improving the patient experience.

Frimley Health Charity recognises the importance of investing in pioneering research and technology as a key fundraising principle. By investing in cutting-edge research and innovative technology, the charity can help to improve the quality of care and outcomes for patients, not just locally but also on a national level. The charity’s focus will be on pioneering research and technology aims to support initiatives that have the potential to revolutionise healthcare and transform patients’ lives. By supporting research into new treatments and cures, the charity can accelerate medical innovations and bring new treatments to patients quicker.

Providing accurate and up-to-date information can help individuals make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. As part of its fundraising principles, Frimley Health Charity will fund initiatives that promote health education and training for our staff, community-based programs, and outreach initiatives that provide health education and support. By supporting health education and awareness it will help to lower healthcare costs and improve overall health outcomes in the local community, reducing the demand on our hospital and community services.

Frimley Health Charity acknowledges the importance of providing healthcare services to all members of our community. The principle of equality, diversity and inclusion involves raising funds to support initiatives and programs that promote access and equality in healthcare. This may include funding for services that help to reduce health inequalities, such as outreach programs to under-served communities or initiatives that improve access to healthcare for marginalised groups. The charity will also fund initiatives and programs that promote diversity and inclusion within the healthcare workforce.

We understand that the hospital and community environment can be stressful and challenging for patients and their loved ones, as well as for our staff who work tirelessly to provide care and support. The fundraising principle of supporting wellbeing involves raising funds for a range of programmes that promote mental, emotional, and physical health. When patients and their loved ones feel supported and cared for, they are better able to cope with the challenges of illness and treatment. Similarly, when our staff feel supported and valued, they are better able to provide high-quality care and support to their patients.
