Our vision is to empower Frimley Health’s NHS services to go beyond what is possible through statutory funding alone, helping to deliver exceptional care, support innovation, and enhance the wellbeing of patients, staff and our local communities.
While NHS services are funded by the UK Government, there are often opportunities to do more than core budgets can provide. Whether it’s improving the patient experience, enhancing staff wellbeing, investing in innovative equipment, or creating more welcoming healthcare environments, additional funding can make a significant difference.
Frimley Health Charity exists to help bridge that gap. By funding projects and initiatives that fall outside NHS budgets, we enable our hospitals and community services to go further, benefiting those who use and deliver healthcare every day.
Each year, we provide more than £1.5 million in charitable funding across our hospitals and local communities, supporting projects that would not otherwise be possible through NHS funding alone.
We invest in projects, equipment and initiatives that make a meaningful difference to patients, families and staff. Our focus is on funding opportunities that go above and beyond core NHS provision, helping to improve experiences, outcomes and wellbeing across our hospitals and services.
To ensure our funding has the greatest impact, we have established a set of fundraising principles that guide our decision-making. These principles help us focus our resources where they are needed most, ensuring we continue to support the evolving needs of our patients, staff and communities, both now and in the future.
By working together with supporters, donors and healthcare teams, we can help transform care, enhance environments and create lasting benefits across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Improving the patient experience is a key priority for Frimley Health Charity. We recognise that receiving clinical care can often be stressful and unsettling, and we are committed to funding projects that help create a more positive, compassionate and reassuring environment for patients and their families.
Through the generosity of our supporters, we fund a wide range of patient-focused initiatives, from enhancements to hospital environments and wellbeing projects to state-of-the-art medical equipment and specialist training for staff. These investments help improve comfort, dignity and overall experience while supporting the delivery of exceptional care.
Frimley Health Charity recognises the vital role that research, innovation and technology play in shaping the future of healthcare. By investing in pioneering research and cutting-edge technology, we can help improve patient care, enhance clinical outcomes and contribute to advances that benefit communities both locally and nationally.
We are committed to supporting projects and initiatives that have the potential to transform healthcare and improve lives. This includes funding innovative technologies, research programmes and new approaches to diagnosis, treatment and patient care that go beyond what NHS budgets can provide.
Investment in technology can also improve efficiency, enhance patient safety and support healthcare teams in delivering the highest standards of care.
Access to accurate, reliable and up-to-date health information empowers people to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. By promoting health education and awareness, we can help individuals better understand their health, prevent illness and access the support they need at the right time.
As part of our funding principles, Frimley Health Charity supports initiatives that improve health education and awareness across our hospitals and local communities. This includes funding specialist training and development opportunities for staff, community-based programmes, educational resources and outreach initiatives that provide information, guidance and support to patients, families and the wider public.
By investing in health education, we aim to encourage healthier lifestyles, improve understanding of health conditions and help people take a more active role in managing their wellbeing. These initiatives can contribute to better health outcomes, reduce health inequalities and strengthen the overall health of our communities.
Frimley Health Charity is committed to supporting a healthcare system that is accessible, inclusive and equitable for everyone. We recognise that every individual should have the opportunity to receive high-quality healthcare, regardless of their background, circumstances or personal characteristics.
As part of our funding principles, we support initiatives that help reduce health inequalities and improve access to healthcare for those who may face additional barriers to receiving care. This may include community outreach programmes, targeted support services and projects designed to engage under-served or disadvantaged groups within our local communities.
Frimley Health Charity recognises that hospitals and community healthcare settings can be challenging environments for patients, their families and the dedicated staff who provide care every day. Supporting wellbeing is therefore a key part of our funding principles.
We are committed to funding initiatives that promote wellbeing, helping to create positive and supportive experiences for everyone who interacts with our healthcare services. This may include wellbeing programmes, therapeutic activities, improvements to healthcare environments, and projects that provide additional comfort and support during times of illness, recovery or bereavement.
When patients and their loved ones feel supported, informed and cared for, they are better equipped to cope with the challenges that healthcare experiences can bring. Likewise, when staff feel valued and supported in their wellbeing, they are better able to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to those who depend on them.
