Supporting our community through Payroll Giving is one of the simplest and most effective ways to make a difference.
If you’re an employee, speak to your employer about setting up a regular donation through your salary. If you’re an employer, we’d be delighted to discuss how your organisation can offer Payroll Giving to your team.
Payroll Giving is a quick, easy and tax-efficient way to support charity. You choose how much you’d like to donate each month, and your contribution is deducted directly from your salary before tax, making your gift go even further.
You can donate as much or as little as you wish, and you’re free to increase, decrease or cancel your donation at any time by notifying your payroll department.
For employees
- Easy and convenient - donations are deducted automatically from your salary
- Tax-efficient - because donations are taken before tax, your gift costs you less whilst making a bigger impact.
- Flexible - you can increase, decrease or stop your donation at any time by contacting your payroll department.
- Make more of a difference - every £1 donated through Payroll Giving may cost you as little as 80p (or 60p for higher-rate taxpayers).
For employers
Offering Payroll Giving is an effective way to support charitable causes while engaging your workforce.
- Enhance your corporate social responsibility programme with minimal administration or cost.
- Support employee giving through a trusted and tax-efficient scheme.
- Track the positive impact your organisation is helping to achieve through charitable donations.
- Offers opportunity to gain recognition by attaining a Quality Mark Award.
- Government award given to organisations who implement Payroll Giving.
- Demonstrate your commitment to supporting the local community and healthcare services.
A Payroll Giving scheme is easy to set up and we can help you set up a scheme or promote an existing one. Email fhft.fundraising@nhs.net for information about Payroll Giving.
