Take on Run Frimley on 30 April 2023. With an amazing atmosphere and various race distances, this is the perfect event for runners of all ages and abilities!

About the Event

We are delighted to welcome the return of the hugely popular Run Frimley on Sunday 30th April 2023. The event has always attracted a strong community following with over 1,000 runners taking part year on year. The event is comprised of a NEW Closed Road 5k and 10k race (featuring chip timing for all participants) and our new 1 mile ‘colourful’ family fun run. This is the 1st time our route has been on entirely closed roads!

We are excited to share that we are expanding our event village this year, so there is something for everyone. To keep the little one’s entertained, there will be face painters, games, activities, performers and more. The whole event will also be complimented with music, plenty of stalls to browse around and many delicious caterers to enjoy. All carefully handpicked to ensure our guests enjoy their time at the event.

We have made the decision to change the location of Run Frimley to a NEW permanent home at Frimley Lodge Park. There were some real positives about previously using the MOD site next to the hospital, but we were unable to find an agreement this year for a less restrictive on-site entry process, which previously led to a very slow and limiting start to our event.

Our new venue has a host of facilities already on-site and will also provide our runners with brand-new and for the first time ever, both our 5K and 10K routes will be taking place on completely closed roads for the entirety of their routes. This will improve your overall running experience providing a consistent running surface throughout to help you reach those PB’s, offer much improved levels of gradual elevation and above all delivers maximum safety for our runners.

Both routes are now wheelchair and pushchair friendly and we will also have three dedicated cheer points out on the route to help push you along and give you that added boost, all adding to a fantastic and unique running experience of Run Frimley.

New for this year – Our Fun Run made Fun!

We have made the decision to make our annual fun run just that……….fun! Historically this has been a 2.5k chipped time event that was sometimes as competitive as the 10k event itself! We wanted to move away from this and make the event more family accessible for anyone of any age and of any ability to take part in and just have fun.

We’ve removed the chip timing element of the run and reduced the distance to just 1 mile. The course will stay within the grounds of the event village which means everyone can watch and cheer loudly to all those taking part. What is even more exciting is that we are making this event super colourful and will need your help too! They’ll be powdered paint just as you will have seen at other colour runs and bubbles for all the runners to enjoy and embrace as you run together. Where we need your help is to add even more colour. We want to see the wackiest, craziest, and the most colourful runners we ever seen!

As we want this to be the whole family taking part together, we are also giving free entry to the fun run to anyone who takes part in either the 10k or 5k race. The 10k and 5k race will start and finish before the start of the fun run, just so we don’t add any tired legs to the main event, so really, you have no excuse! Please note, there will be a limited number of medals available for this route.

Get that face paint on, dust out that ultraviolet top, put on those shorts you’ve always been told you can’t wear outside the house! Bring the colour, bring the laughter and most of all, bring the fun!

Fundraise for Run Frimley and help us care for more patients like Caroline…

“After suffering with breathing issues and being unable to walk and eat. I was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease, Polymyositis – a condition which attacks the muscles throughout the body. I found being in hospital incredibly hard but felt very privileged and humbled with the care I received by some truly amazing people, who did so much to make my stay as easy as possible. The support and care I got was absolutely incredible, especially during a global pandemic. Without their help and encouragement, I would not have got my life back and walked out of the hospital 2 months later. To say thank you to the staff who took care of me, I took part in both Run Frimley 2021 & 2022 to raise money for the trust” – Caroline

Dementia Appeal

The run this year is in aid of our Dementia Appeal.

Dementia is often misunderstood. There are many misconceptions, and we all need to learn different techniques to communicate better to those people and families living with dementia.

We want to lead the way in acute hospital care. Now you can support us in our vision – to set the national standard for excellence in patient safety, quality and continuous improvement for people living with dementia.
