Run Frimley 2021

Run Frimley is back! This year Run Frimley will be back to its usual self, just a little later in the year on Sunday 26th September. With the road map now in place to bring us out of lock down we can now get together and run together to support your local hospital.

Due to the restrictions that will still be in place in May we have decided to move Run Frimley from it’s usual date to later in the year on Sunday 26th September so we can ensure as many of you as possible can attend and enjoy the event in it’s entirety.

Timings of the event are 09:30 for the 2.5k Fun Run followed by the 10k event at 10:30. More information about the event can be found below.

Entry Options

You can choose to do either the 10k or the 2.5k fun run. The day will start with the 2.5k fun run followed by the 10k so you can do both if you want to run with all your family together in the 2.5k first! Entry for the 10k is £20.00 and entry for the 2.5k Fun Run is £8.00. Remember though, you can secure a free entry charity place just by pledging to raise £50.00 prior to the event. See below for more details on this.

If you are a member of an active UKA affiliated running club you will entitled to a 10% discount on entry using code RUNFRICLUB. Please ensure you enter your UK Athletics Affiliated Club Name and UK Athletics race license number when registering your entry.

Please note entries will close at midnight on Thursday 23rd September

Dementia Appeal

The run this year is in aid of our Dementia Appeal.

Dementia is often misunderstood. There are many misconceptions and we all need to learn different techniques to communicate better to those people and families living with dementia.

We want to lead the way in acute hospital care. Now you can support us in our vision – to set the national standard for excellence in patient safety, quality and continuous improvement for people living with dementia.

About the event

Run Frimley is a charity event to raise money for the Dementia Appeal on Sunday 26th September. The event is comprised of a 10k Road Race and 2.5k Fun Run based at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. Featuring chip timing for all participants and every participant will get a finishing medal.

Why not entertain everyone you see by running in fancy dress? We would love you to dress up as an “NHS Superhero” to show your support of everyone that’s worked so tirelessly over the last year. There will be prizes for the top three male and female finishers in both races and of course everyone gets a medal.

Officially Measured

This 10k road race is officially recognised by UK athletics and the course has been measured and verified. If you are an affiliated member of a recognised running club you will qualify for a discount when booking your place. As this event is to raise money for the hospital you can of course still pay the full price as a little contribution to our charity.

Please arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the start of your run. Parking is free at the hospital but we encourage you to use public transport or carpool if possible.

Age Restrictions:

10k – Our event is run in accordance with the UK Athletics Rules, so runners competing in the 10k Road Race must be aged 15 or over on the day of the run (Sunday 26th September 2021).

Fun Run – Children must be aged under 15 on the day of the run to qualify to win a prize. There is no lower age limit for participation in the 2.5k Fun Run but under-9s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Help us to continue to be there for whoever needs us, no matter what, by joining #TeamFHC and have a really good time too.
