Skydivers support their local hospitals

During the summer 15 people took part in tandem skydives for their local hospital, raising over £10,000 in total.

Sharon Johnston raised £6,580 for the Eden cancer ward at Wexham Park Hospital as a thank you to the team that cared for her father over the last six years. Sharon said ‘This is my way of saying thank you to all the staff who do a fantastic job each and every day. Without their care and support, my Dad and others like him would not have the same quality of life they have today.”

Sharon with her parents, Eddie and Jean Maguire from Langley, and members of the Wexham Park team who cared for him and nine skydivers signed up to jump together at the charity’s Big Jump 2015 event on Saturday 12 September in support of local breast cancer patients. Breast care nurse Ruth O’Connor, former patient Sabrina Steel and many more took to the skies and have raised over £5,000 to date.

If jumping out of an airplane at 12,000ft and freefalling at 200kph to support people in need sounds like a good idea, you can find out more at www.frimleyhealthcharity.org/bigjump.
