The Pirbright Doko Challenge raised £3180!

The Pirbright Doko Challenge raised £3180!

On 23rd July Lt. Hoccom, Cpl Gurung and Cpl Sunuwar, created an event 5K challenge for our charity because ‘NHS saved many lives during COVID-19 pandemic’

20 members of permanent staff from Army Training Centre (ATC) Pirbright completed the challenge BUT with also carrying a large basket weighing 20kg (called a Doko) with a strap supported by their foreheads

Today Keith Hanks (Fundraising manager at Frimley Park), accepted the cheque from Commanding Officer (CO) of 1 Army Training Regiment Pirbright, Jonathon Townrow.  And now with Gift Aid totals an amazing £3491!

It was a great opportunity for us meet them for them to engage with their local NHS trust. Frimley Park also provides care and support to their military personnel, including families, when needed. They also have their military medical staff working alongside NHS colleagues to deliver care to patients and their families.

It was a really pleasure to meet you all and thank you so much for your support and really rising to an incredible challenge.  Your money raised will go towards a project to enhance staff rooms – giving a place that really gives space to have a well-deserved break.
