Proud to be part of NHS Charities Together

Proud to be part of NHS Charities Together

You may have heard lots about NHS Charities Together in recent weeks with amazing people such as Captain Tom Moore’s NHS appeal topping £32m on 100th birthday, and we just wanted to tell you a bit more.

Who are NHS Charities Together?

NHS Charities Together provide the national voice for NHS Charities such as ourselves, champion key projects and themes that best enhance patient care and experience, and the impact our NHS Charity funds make. These vital funds and services are above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide, touching lives and making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most vulnerable.  They provide everything from capital funding for experimental technology to counselling and respite care for the hard-pressed health workers who are currently giving so much.

NHS Charities Together brings together its individual members such as ourselves for nationwide fundraising campaigns, such as the NHS Big Tea, which celebrates the health services’ birthday. They also play a key role in mobilising volunteers to support NHS staff, brightening wards and waiting areas with colourful and engaging art and building an important link between our hospitals and our communities.

Supporting us

Seeing the profound impact that COVID-19 was having on our health service NHS Charities Together launched their COVID-19 Appeal to acknowledge and support NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19 across the country, including those across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The response has been truly overwhelming, and Frimley Health Charity has already received our first grant which has been used to meet the immediate and urgent needs of our NHS staff, volunteers and patients. Alongside our own COVID-19 fund that we launched, we have been able to purchase multiple android tablets to help our Covid-19 patients stay in contact with loved ones during isolation, install sensory accessories and lighting for ‘Wellbeing Hubs’ across our sites so staff have space and time for reflection and provide furnishings for staff break rooms and garden makeovers to improve indoor/outdoor relaxation areas.

Together WE ARE stronger and we’re so thankful for the incredible support we receive from NHS Charities Together so that we as a charity can continue to improve patients’ lives across our local community.
