The Breast Care Appeal was launched to raise £750,000 by the end of September 2016.

Huge support was given to the appeal by the local community and by the end of September 2016 £830,000 had been raised.   Since then more donations have been received and these extra funds are very welcome as more equipment will be needed once the dedicated breast unit has been built.

A new state of the art 3d tomosynthesis mammography machine has been ordered and will be installed in March 2017.  This machine will be installed within the radiology department so patients can benefit immediately from the latest technology.  This will ensure that patients have the best chance of successful (and less invasive and debilitating) treatment.

Whilst the Trust agreed to match fund every penny we raised up to £750,000 they will, in fact, be spending several million pounds providing the dedicated breast unit as it will be within a brand new building at Frimley.  Construction will be starting later this year and the new Breast Unit will be open for business early in 2018.
