Online Giving Page

Setting up and maximising your online giving page can be a bit daunting or a complicated task. Here we give guidance on how to set up your chosen online giving page and how to really get the most our of it so it reflects all the hard work you are putting in.

If you would like to set up a fundraising page we recommend using our fundraising partner Enthuse. To do so couldn’t be easier, just click here.

Raise more online

  • Tell our story and your sponsorship target. Contributing to a target and understanding your motivation will encourage others to sponsor you.
  • Don’t forget to share photos, milestones and regular updates. The more effort, enthusiasm and emotion you put in the more people will donate.
  • Set a target and increase it if you hit it early. If you reach your goal you might as well upgrade your target as you’ve clearly underestimated what an amazing fundraiser you are.

Use social media

  • Share your event and link to your online giving page
  • Encourage your followers to share
  • Ask for donations at the end of the month – it’s payday!

Supercharge your fundraising

  • Ask your employer about Matched Giving – it could double your fundraising!
  • Give a sponsorship form to family and friends to raise money on your behalf and pin up your sponsorship forms in the canteen or social areas at your work or place of study.
  • Don’t forget about Gift Aid.

Alternative Online Giving Platforms

1. Go to gofundme.com

If you already have a GoFundMe account, all you need to do is choose to “start a new campaign”. If you do not already have an account visit the gofundme.com/sign-up page and enter a few simple details such as your name, address, a password and your contact preferences. After signing up, you will begin creating your campaign.

2. Choose your goal amount and campaign title

Your goal is important but you’ll want to make sure it’s attainable. It’s always a good idea to reflect on how much you’re looking to raise, but you always have the option to edit this later in your campaign if you find the goal is too low or too high. Next, choose your campaign title. This is your chance to stand out. Create a title that is specific to your cause. It has to be 35 characters or less, so make sure it fits!

3. Tell us about your event

You will need to select here that you are creating a certified charity campaign for Frimley Health Charity. Then choose a category. This can help your donors know what you’re raising funds for, but no need to overthink this part. Additionally, you can also choose here if you’re the sole organiser (you will manage all aspects and sharing for the campaign) or if you want a bit of support from friends or a club.

4. Write your story

After agreeing to their terms and privacy policy, you will add a main image. Now is your time to write your story. A great story will be open and descriptive, and include a bit about who you are, what you’re raising funds for, and how the money will be spent. If you’re raising money for someone else, it’s a good idea to share how you know them! Remember to look back at our helpful hints and tips listed on this page.

5. Share your campaign

At this point, your campaign is now live and can start receiving donations. However, no one will see your campaign until you start to share it! Another way to share is by emailing your friends about your campaign. Finally, you can create your own memorable link which will make sharing easier. You can simply select the “Edit link” button to change it to something personal to your cause. You can only change your link once, so if you make an error, reach out to the Go Fund Me team, and they can get that edited on their end.

1. Go to justgiving.com/frimleyhealthcharity

Visit justgiving.com/frimleyhealthcharity and select ‘Fundraise for us’. You’ll be prompted to log into your account and click ‘Start Fundraising’. if you don’t have an account you’ll be prompted to set one up

2. Select the best fundraising option for you

Next, choose what you’re doing. You’ll be given options such as celebrating an occasion, fundraising in memory or doing your own thing. If choosing ‘Taking part in an event’and you can’t see your event listed, select ‘Add your own’ at the bottom of the page and add some details about your activity.

3. Choose your event

You’l next be asked to enter details about your event and choosing your web address – this is the link you’ll be sharing with friends and family when asking them to donate. Click ‘Create your page’.

4. Tell us why you’re fundraising

You’ll then be directed to your very own, brand new fundraising challenge page! By clicking ‘Edit Your Page’ at the top you’ll be able to enter a short description of what you’re doing to raise money – whether you’re joining in a big event, doing your own thing or celebrating something special – and the date or deadline you’re doing this by. Remember to look back at our helpful hints and tips listed on this page.

5. Finalise your fundraising page

Job done! Your Fundraising Page is now set up and ready to accept donations. JustGiving will send the money that you raise to your charity on a weekly basis.
