Volunteers help make Royal Wedding celebrations a resounding success

23 May 2018

Ward 3, Medicine for the Elderly, at Wexham Park Hospital held a very special afternoon tea last Saturday for all patients, staff and visitors in celebration of the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The event was a resounding success with standing room only in the butterfly lounge and Helen Oakes, Matron for Medicine for the Elderly said “I have never seen a room so full!”.

Helen went on to say “I wanted to pass on my thanks to the volunteers who helped on Saturday to make the afternoon tea go so well. The volunteers were essential in decorating the room, collecting patients, serving the food and taking them back to the wards, and I can’t thank them enough.  It was an excellent event and the feedback from the patients was overwhelmingly positive.”

Volunteers at Frimley Health make a huge impact on the running of our hospitals and the wellbeing of our patients including events such as abovve. We will take time to match your interests and skills with available opportunities so that we all benefit.

The possibilities for volunteers to get involved in the work of the trust are endless. However you would like to help us, you can be sure that you are making a positive difference to everyone who walks through our door.

If you are interested in volunteering opportunities across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust please contact Elisha Rajput on Elisha.rajput@fhft.nhs.uk or call 07500881736.
