Sainsbury’s Slough helps the Critical Care Unit Appeal

As reported by the Slough Observer:

A SUPERMARKET will be aiming to raise money to help children in need of medical support after choosing it as its charity of the year.

Sainsbury’s in Farnham Road has announced that Frimley Health Charity will be its chosen beneficiaries for its fundraising efforts for the 2016/17 year.

The money raised by the store will be going towards the new children’s critical care unit at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.

Sarah Rutledge, Store manager at Sainsbury’s Farnham Road, said: “I’d like to say congratulations to Frimley Health Charity. It’s great to be working with a new charity this year. My colleagues are really excited about the partnership.”

Fundraising has already started in store, with a table top sale and bucket collections, and the table top sale has already raised more than £250.

The Local Charity scheme is now in its right year, and has raised more than £11m to support local charities since 2009.
