When training and preparing for your run, remember the following:
Every run is different – have a look at the course and identify anything that you might need to train for, like hills
Get advice when you need it – we can help with any questions or point you towards the right direction with experts or experienced runners
Stay safe – this may seem an obvious goal but our training team can provide advice, to help keep you out of harm’s way during training and on race day
Stay motivated – Especially if you’re running for the first time or pushing yourself to do your first 5K or 10K, staying motivated during your training can be a challenge. We can help you find what motivates you along with the people you will be supporting and offer ways to keep in touch with us and other supporters and also help build communities of fellow runnersHow do I set up a JustGiving fundraising page?

Any issues just let us know.Do I need to register in advance?
Postal and Online registration closes on Wednesday 26th June but entries on the day will be subject to availability.
With so many people taking part we have to close registration a few days before to record everyone’s details and give us a chance to prepare for the day.Is there an age criteria to enter races
Unfortunately each race distance does have a minimum age limit, which is set by UK Athletics. Because of this we are unable to accept any runners under the specified age bands. The UKA age guidelines for races are:
- 5k – 11 years and over on the day of the run (Sunday 30 June 2019)
- 10k – 15 years and over on the day of the run (Sunday 30 June 2019)
There are no age restrictions for participation in the fun run but under-9s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Can I update my registration information?
Yes if you move address or change your contact number or even if you would like to amend any part of your registration information, please contact the charity on email at email@example.com or calling 01753 633206Worried about the distance?
We have a 5k option if you are new to running and want something a little less scary than a 10k to be your first run! Also, lots of people walk or run the Fun Run as it is just that, Fun!
You can be ready to complete the 10k with just 6 weeks training. Lots of people do a mixture of walking and running for the 10k. Running can be a hard slog to start with but if you build up your base fitness slowly and steadily, you will be surprised at how your outlook on exercise changes. Here are some useful resources to get you started:
NHS Couch to 5k – this website, podcast series and app is a great way to get yourself off the couch and running 5k in just 9 weeks.Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
You can contact the charity on email at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01753 633206Is the course/route wheelchair accessible?
The answer is yes, however this would be weather dependent, because in heavy rain we think it would be hard to push a standard wheelchair. We would ask that the competitor take the usual caution when in a group of runners to take care of others in their surroundings.
