Run Frimley 2018
UPDATE: A massive thank you to everybody who took part on Sunday. If you are looking for you time please follow this link.
Thanks once again and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
Run Frimley is a charity event to raise money for the Frimley Park Hospital Stroke Appeal on Sunday 6th May. The event is comprised of a 10k Road Race and 2.5k Fun Run based at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. Featuring chip timing for all participants and every participant will get a finishing medal and refreshments. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged (particularly in the fun run) and this year’s theme is “Your Favourite Disney Character” there are lots of prizes for top runners as well as the best fancy dress.
Raising money for stroke patients at your local hospital
100% of the money raised by Run Frimley will go to the hospital’s Stroke Appeal to support the development of our stroke unit into one of the best in the country.
We have set ourselves a target to raise £750,000 and the Trust will add £1 for every £2 we raise. This will give us enough money to extend the space in the stroke unit and provide a better area for recovering patients to spend time with their families away from the main wards, receive a wider range of complementary therapies that aid recovery and provide more of the latest equipment that helps to speed recovery.
New for 2018
Want a free running vest? Open up a Just Giving page and collect at least £50 in donations before the entry closing date and we will send you a free Run Frimley 2018 branded running vest.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! Registration closes at midnight on 3rd May 2018 and there are limited registrations on the day for the 10k run and the price will be £20. We can only accept cash on the day.
With over 2,000 people taking part in 2017 we have to close registration a few days before to provide our chip timing partner with everyone’s details and give us chance to prepare for the day.

Please arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the start of your run. Parking is free at the hospital but we encourage you to use public transport or carpool if possible.

The team registration price is just £16 (10k) or £5 (2.5k). If you are registering a large team please contact the fundraising office for help with the registration system. What group discounts are available?
You must create a team to receive the discounted registration fees.

2.5 Fun Run – If registering as part of a group of 4 or more we offer a discounted entry fee of £5 per person. Although this is not a discount on the under-15 entry fee, it is intended as a family discount. Due to chip timing the under-15 runners we cannot make the entry lower than £5 even for groups. What are my transport/parking options?
We encourage all participants and spectators to travel by public transport if possible, or to share a car.
Free parking is available in the hospital’s public car park. The barriers should be open from 08.30am – 11.45am on Sunday 6th May. If you arrive outside of these times or find the barriers closed, just push the intercom button at the parking barrier and tell the security staff that you are taking part in Run Frimley to be let through. You will not have to pay for parking even if you have to get a ticket to enter the car park. Can I use a pushchair/wheelchair or a bike/roller skates/space rocket/other mode of transport, or bring a dog with me?
Due to the number of participants in both events we cannot allow the use of any alternative mode of transport or for dogs to join runners on the routes. It is not safe for other participants, particularly at the start and finish line.
The only exception is that we do allow families with pushchairs and wheelchair users to join the back of the field for the 2.5k fun run only.
We apologise for any inconvenience these rules may cause. Is my registration transferable?
Yes. If you would like to transfer your registration to another person, you must contact us via email@example.com or call us on 01276 604642. You cannot transfer a registration without telling us and must do so no later than 25th April 2018.Can I update my registration information?

If you’re registering on behalf of more than one person, all bib numbers and timing chips for your group will be sent to you. What is the refund policy?
All registrations are NOT refundable, other than in extenuating circumstances. Please contact the charity if you find yourself unable to attend due to reasons outside your control.I'm not sure if I can do the 10k, can I still take part?
Lots of people walk the 2.5k Fun Run but if you want to start getting fit the 2.5k is a great early milestone to aim for.
You can be ready to complete the 10k with just 6 weeks training. Lots of people do a mixture of walking and running for the 10k. 260 people took more than an hour to finish the run in 2017 so don’t worry about being ‘slow’.
Running can be a hard slog to start with but if you build up your base fitness slowly and steadily, you will be surprised at how your outlook on exercise changes. Here are some useful resources to get you started:
NHS Couch to 5k – this website, podcast series and app is a great way to get yourself off the couch and running 5k in just 9 weeks.
Running Bug Training Plans and Tips – this popular runners website provides a wealth of tips and training plans to inspire you.The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
No. Only the person whose details are registered to the bib number may run in the event with that bib number for the health and safety of participants. Please see the section above on transferring your registration.Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
