A huge thank you to the local communities for your support and offers of kindness for our wonderful staff during the past few weeks. Our hospitals are currently faced with the highest numbers of covid patients since the start of the pandemic – significantly more than we had during the first peak. Staff are under immense pressure and we’re doing everything possible to look after their health and wellbeing while they work tirelessly to care for patients. Your offers of help mean so much and really do boost morale. However, at this time, the most important way you can help our staff is to heed government advice – Stay at home and only leave for essential reasons. Seek medical advice if you do feel unwell – the NHS across our region remains open to everyone.
During this intensely challenging period Frimley Health Charity has taken the difficult decision to no longer accept any physical goods or gifts delivered in person but only those purchased and donated through our Amazon wish lists for existing charity funded projects, such as the staff wellbeing areas. The new variant is highly infectious and so we have taken this step to safeguard both staff and patients. Frimley Health Charity is continuing to work with all of our hospitals to help support patients and staff at this time. We will instead continue to work tirelessly in the background and focus on raising much needed financial donations to support our frontline NHS workers.

Whilst we are all being told to stay at home and to take measures to stay safe from Covid-19, our incredible NHS staff are not able to do that. Instead, they will be working under increased pressure to make sure our patients get the care they need. NHS workers have faced months of intense pressure, working to care for and protect patients and our community. They know the risks of going into work every day, yet they do it with no complaints.
That is why the charity still very much needs your support so that we can in turn support our NHS staff and our patients across all our hospitals as best we possibly can. Covid-19 has changed how we need to work and will continue to do so for months and possibly years to come. As a charity, we rely on donations from events and community activities to raise vital funds to support our staff and patients, but the pandemic has meant that our events have been cancelled, which has had a detrimental impact on our fundraising. We urgently need increased ongoing support to help us plan for the future and react effectively as demands on our hospital change.

Having learnt so much from the ‘first wave’, we know how to support our staff, but we can only do this with your help. Right now, staff across our hospitals continue to work tirelessly to deliver care to those who need it most. Many are still working longer shifts, extra days and continuing to spend a lot of time away from their home and families to keep them safe and ensure every patient receives the care they deserve. As an NHS Charity we believe we should do all we can to support our staff across the Trust, in whatever way we can, and by donating you can help too.
Everything we do is about improving the treatment of local patients and supporting our amazing NHS staff to deliver the best quality of care in all our hospitals across the trust. Your donation will help us to support staff wellbeing and psychological support, enhance staff spaces to provide comfortable internal and external areas for staff to take a break during/after their shifts and help where it is most needed.
If you are able to support us at this time we would encourage you to make your donation to the Area of Greatest Need, as this gives us the flexibility to use your donation where it is needed most across all our hospitals and community providers.
Alternatively, you can support your local hospital at Frimley Park, Heatherwood or Wexham Park by clicking the relevant hospital page where your donation will be restricted to be used for the needs at your chosen hospital.Donate today
